Professor David Yu is the Chairman of China Aviation Valuation Advisors (CAVA) its sister firms, Asia Aviation Valuation Advisors (AAVA), Korea Aviation Valuation Advisors (KAVA). They are China, Korea, and Asia’s first professional aviation valuation and advisory firm providing investment and financing solutions to investors, partners, etc.

Prof. David Yu is also a professor of practice in finance at New York University Shanghai and Stern School and is a recognized expert in cross border investing, financing and valuation.  He teaches a variety of international finance and investment-related courses including cross border investing and financing, PE/VC international project / structured finance, M&A & Valuation and in the MS Global Finance and MS Quantitative Finance programs. He is a thought leader in cross border investing and financing, real assets and aviation finance/leasing.

He is the only Senior ISTAT (International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading) Certified Aviation Appraiser in N. Asia & China and one of ~20 globally. His interviews, articles and op-eds have appeared in Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, Nikkei Asian Review, Business Traveller, Airline Economics and he is a contributing editor at Airfinance Journal. He is an active business and economics commentator for ARD German, ABC Australia, among other media. He is a Senior Instructor for IATA. He is the external thought leader in aviation finance and leasing for KPMG Ireland and also a recognized Aviation Expert by multi-national institutions.  He is an Editorial Board member for the Journal Of Structured Finance and a fellow of The Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Economics, Global Health And The Study Of Business Enterprise Institute. He acts as a board director or advisor of companies and investment funds. His recently published book “Aircraft Valuation: Airplane Investments As An Asset Class” by Palgrave Macmillian has been featured by Wall Street Journal among others.
