David Yu
David Yu is the Chairman of China Aviation Valuation Advisors (CAVA) its sister firms, Asia Aviation Valuation Advisors (AAVA), Korea Aviation Valuation Advisors (KAVA). They are China, Korea, and Asia’s first professional aviation valuation and advisory firm providing investment and financing solutions to investors, partners, etc.
David is also a professor of practice in finance at NYU Shanghai and Stern, where he teaches a variety of international finance and investment-related courses including cross border investing and financing, PE/VC international project finance and in the MS Global Finance and MS Quantitative Finance programs. He is a thought leader in cross border investing and financing, real assets and aviation finance/leasing.

The book and its research has been highlighted and recommended by top publications including Wall Street Journal, among the top 7 aviation books of 2020 by the Puget Sound Business Journal, among others.
I am very pleased to announce the publication of the book: “ Aircraft Valuation: Airplane Investments as an Asset Class” by Palgrave Macmillan.
The book describes the current COVID-19 situation thus far with respect to the aviation market. It includes my long term study looking at underlying aspects of aircraft as an investable asset class especially geared for institutional investors within the real asset space. The book also looks at the drivers of the global markets and the Chinese/Asian market. It includes a detailed 20+ year study of aircraft residual values and comparisons to other real asset classes and benchmarks. It is intended for industry professionals, students and academic researchers.
